From Inner Development to Conscious Living

A 3-Day Residential International Forum

Date: May 1-3, 2027
Venue: Naval Veerayatan, a hilltop spiritual and cultural retreat centre near Pune, India

Why This Forum?

The International School for Jain Studies (ISJS) envisions fostering global dialogue on sustainable collective well-being, with inner development as an important focus. While technological advancements, including Artificial Intelligence, are transforming the way we live, challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and growing loneliness remain pressing concerns. Addressing these challenges requires a deeper understanding of the human being and new ways of thinking and acting. The Forum draws on over twenty years of international engagement with the Indian Knowledge System in general and Jain philosophy in particular. It offers an open space for diverse perspectives and shared learning.

The Forum Experience

Unfulfilled desires and the pursuit of status, praise, and pleasure can often lead to restlessness, stress, fear, and inner disconnection. These challenges are reflected in strained family relationships, social disparities, exclusion, and wider global conflicts. The Forum seeks to create opportunities for dialogue, reflection, mindful practices and responsible behaviour that encourage conscious living, strengthen trust, and foster self-reliance.

The Forum brings participants together to explore three fundamental questions:

    • Who am I?
    • Who are WE?
    • What is OUR world?

The inaugural edition invites participants to experience, reflect, engage, and co-create — moving from awareness to self-effort, from self-effort to ethical action, and from individual transformation to global sustenance.
