Objective
Knowledge of Brahmi is vital and relevant to all those students, scholars, and teachers who are studying or working in the fields of History, Archaeology, Indology, and Manuscriptology. There is a large number ofundeciphered fragments (manuscripts) of Brāhmī preserved in the British Museum, London and in many India libraries and Indological institutes as well. Due to its vast variations, it is difficult to decipher them without a sound knowledge of these scripts. This course will make them able to decipher those scripts.

Doctorate / Post-graduate / Graduate in Philosophy / History / Ancient Indian History and Culture/ Indology / Languages / Linguistics / Religious Studies, across the globe, are eligible for this course.

- Pali, Prakrit, and Brahmi alphabets; word transliteration
- Evolution of Brahmi: Variations, and Specifications
- Deciphering a Brahmi (lang. Prakrit) inscription by Ashoka and Kharvela
- Transliteration of Prakrit passage/verse from Brahmi to Roman
- Transliteration of Prakrit passage/verse from Roman to Brahmi
